Dr. Joseph Broyles

Dr. Joseph Broyles has a special interest in regenerative medicine and has been utilizing orthobiologics such as platelet rich plasma and bone marrow aspirate concentrate in his practice since 2010. He has been recognized seven years in a row as one of Louisiana Life’s Top Doctors. He earned his B.S. in engineering from Tulane University in 1992 and his M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport four years later. Dr. Broyles completed his internship and residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. He also completed a fellowship in total joint replacement in St. Louis, Missouri under Dr. Leo Whiteside, an internationally recognized expert in hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Broyles is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Arthroplasty and a board member of the Arthritis Foundation of Louisiana; he is also a member of the Louisiana Orthopedic Association, the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His professional interests include complex hip and knee surgery, including primary and revision joint replacement surgery; arthroscopic hip surgery, including surgery for hip impingement; biologic treatments for osteoarthritis and meniscus tears; and research in cartilage regeneration in the knee or hip using stem cells.
