Dr. Nicholas Stevens

Dr. Nicholas Stevens is a Hammond native. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in biology from Southeastern Louisiana University. He then pursued a combined Ph.D./M.D. degree at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans beginning in 1972. He attended graduate school in the Department of Physiology and received his Ph.D. in Physiology five years later, with specialization on gastrointestinal physiology and illnesses involving the gastrointestinal tract. He earned his M.D. in 1979 from the LSU School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Foundation Clinic and Hospital in New Orleans in 1982. He joined the Internal Medicine Clinic in 1983 and specializes in general internal medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of Tangipahoa Medical Society, Louisiana State Medical Society, American College of Physicians and American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the medical staff at North Oaks Hospital, North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital, Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital, Specialty LTAC Hospital and United Medical Rehabilitation Hospital. He and his wife Marguerite are members of First Presbyterian Church of Hammond.
